Everyday Heroes: Discover the Strength in Your Story

Why Your Story Matters More Than You Think
Every person carries a story. Sometimes it’s hidden, sometimes it’s still being written, but it’s always there, full of meaning, experience, and potential.
At Youth+, we believe that storytelling is not just about entertainment. It’s about understanding yourself, building confidence, and even inspiring change in your community. That’s why we created “Everyday Heroes”, a monthly workshop where young people explore their own stories and learn how to share them in ways that are clear, powerful, and personal.
Many young people don’t see their stories as important, but in reality, our personal experiences shape the way we see the world. When we share them, we create deeper connections, stronger identities, and a better understanding of ourselves and others.
This isn’t a public speaking class. It’s not about perfection. It’s about discovering who you are, and realizing that your story has the power to make a difference.
What Will You Experience?
The “Everyday Heroes” workshop is a guided space where you’ll take time to reflect, write, and (if you feel ready) speak about your own life experiences.
Here’s what the sessions include:
✍️ Writing and Self-Reflection
You’ll be led through exercises that help you organize your thoughts and look at your life through a new lens. We use creative questions and prompts that make it easier to begin.
🗣️ Learning to Shape Your Story
You’ll learn basic tools for storytelling — including how to structure a story, how to use emotion and imagery, and how to make your story clear and authentic.
🤝 Sharing in a Safe Group
If you choose to share, you’ll be heard with respect. There is no pressure — just a calm, supportive environment where stories are valued and everyone’s voice matters.
🎯 Personal Growth
By the end of the session, you’ll gain more insight into your life journey and how it can support your growth, leadership, and sense of purpose.
Workshop Schedule
Starting from June, the Everyday Heroes workshop will take place every second Saturday of the month from 18:00 to 19:30 at the Y+ Creative Room.
This workshop alternates with our other long-term program, “Body & Emotion Lab,” which is held every first Saturday of the month beginning in May.
This means you can now take part in two different personal development workshops every month, one focused on movement and emotional awareness, and the other on storytelling and self-expression.
Both programs are designed to work together, giving you different ways to connect with yourself and others.
Who Can Join?
These workshops are open to everyone who want to grow, connect, and explore new ways of expression. Whether you’ve been through big life changes or you just want to reflect and share, this is a space where you’re welcome.
No writing or speaking experience is needed, just honesty, openness, and curiosity.
