What is Erasmus+?
Erasmus+ is the European Union’s flagship program for education, training, youth, and sports, running from 2021 to 2027. It aims to provide opportunities for personal and professional growth through high-quality, inclusive education and training. The program supports formal, informal, and non-formal learning, enabling participants to acquire the qualifications and skills needed to thrive in a democratic society, foster intercultural understanding, and successfully transition into the labor market.
Building on the success of the 2014–2020 period, Erasmus+ has expanded its reach to include more participants and a broader range of organizations. Its focus remains on quality, inclusivity, and contributing to a greener, more digital, and interconnected society.
Why Erasmus+ Matters
In an increasingly dynamic, multicultural, and digital world, Erasmus+ plays a crucial role in equipping European citizens with the knowledge, skills, and competencies they need to succeed. The program promotes mobility, language learning, and cross-cultural exchange, making it a cornerstone of the European Education Area and the EU’s Digital Education Action Plan (2021–2027).
The COVID-19 pandemic underscored the importance of accessible education for recovery and equal opportunities. Erasmus+ has responded by enhancing its inclusive dimension, ensuring that no one is left behind. It supports individuals from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds, including those with disabilities, migrants, and those facing socio-economic challenges.
Key Priorities of Erasmus+

-
Green Practices: Projects are encouraged to incorporate environmentally friendly practices, fostering awareness and innovation in sustainability.
-

-
International Cooperation: Erasmus+ facilitates transnational collaboration, enabling the exchange of ideas, best practices, and expertise.
